1. Overview

CityRadar (“CityRadar”, “we”, “us”) is a local business intelligence service that aggregates official public records into evidence-backed signals about new and changing local businesses. This policy explains what personal information we collect from visitors and subscribers, and how we source and publish business data.

2. Information we collect

  • Email capture. When you subscribe for updates we store your email address and any category or city preferences you select, so we can send the digests you ask for.
  • Usage data. Basic, aggregate analytics about how pages are used. We do not sell this information.

3. Sources of business data

Business listings on CityRadar are compiled exclusively from publicly available records, including the City of Calgary Open Data portal, Google Places, and other public search sources. We attribute the originating dataset on the relevant pages and preserve the underlying source record for transparency. We do not create this data; we normalize and present what is already public.

4. How we use information

  • To operate and improve CityRadar and its signals.
  • To send the email digests and alerts you have requested.
  • To maintain the security and integrity of the service.

5. Business listings, corrections, and removal

Because business records originate from public sources, they may contain inaccuracies or information a business owner would prefer not to see amplified. If you are associated with a listed business and would like a correction or removal, contact us at the address below and we will review the request promptly.

6. Future authenticated access

As CityRadar adds accounts and paid subscriptions, contact-level details will move behind authenticated, paid access rather than remaining openly indexable. Public pages will continue to show business name and community for discoverability.

7. Data retention

We retain subscriber information for as long as your subscription is active and as needed to provide the service, after which it is deleted or anonymized. We handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, and you may unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in each message.

9. Contact
